The Founder of Rawdatul Rijaal Foundation (Maswud Abdul Rahman ) had a very challenging life since he was a kid.His mom died when he was 5 and his dad also died when he was 13. Life became so hard for him and his other siblings so he was taken to Accra to get some Islamic and Western education. Even in Accra it wasn’t easy, he had to sometimes go from house to house to collect rubbish before he gets something to eat.He did many menial jobs just to survive. During that time, he encountered so many children who were in similar situations and have ended up being drug addicts.This was what ignited his desire to do something about that situation. Even when he didn’t have enough, he still shared the little he had with other children who were struggling in life. In his early 20’s he started preaching the word of Allah and advising young children. He also made sure these children were been fed.That is where the motivation for Rawdatul Rijaal came from. The foundation started in the early 2000’s although it was unofficial.It became official around 2009 and in all these years Sheikh Masoud and his foundation have trained a lot of young men and women in various jobs. Tiling, sewing, masonry etc. He added education to the foundation’s work because he saw the need to do that. He believes when the stomach is fed, the brain too needs to be fed because the brain makes a human function normally and right.
